i know all you guys have finished up/are graduating, but i’m just starting finals season.
gonna go hide in the library until June.

i’m actually jealous of all my friends who are studying/stressing for finals because it means you guys are almost done for the semester.
i still have five weeks of classes. balls.
i don’t want to come home. i’m just bored with my schoolwork.
my biggest project of the semester is to write a 10 page genre analysis in italian about a performance. useless, time consuming, and difficult.
thankfully, finals will be a joke. two oral exams, a month to study for each of them, and i can retake them if i fail.
i only need a B in the class to keep my scholarship so as long as i get that on the exam, there’s no reason to try any harder. complacency rules.
this is the best semester of my life but if i woke up and it was june, i wouldn’t hate it.
last night Guido told me I sound like I’m from Puglia when I talk.

The sun is out, I’m feeling better, it’s Liberation Day so classes are cancelled, and i’m going to Bologna for a picnic.
All the things are great.
it’s so strange to think that i’ll be back in new york in exactly three months.
three months is a long time, there’s no denying that. what bothers me is that the time is flying by and in two weeks, i’ll only have 10 weeks left.
10 weeks is a really short amount of time when you’re enjoying every day, living simply and only for yourself. i have a routine planned out. the bartenders and waiters and store owners know me by now.
i’m excited to come home to a really great internship, spend some time with the family, and move back to dc. i just don’t want it to happen so soon.
in italian you ask “come ti trovi?”, when you want to know how someone is settling in to a new place, a new life.
the answer is better than ever before.
it’s a good thing i have a sense of humor, otherwise i’d probably find this to be pretty upsetting.
